Judah and Tamar Trilogy Book Two

I am pleased to say that the first draft of Judah of the Terebinths, Book Two in the Judah and Tamar Trilogy was completed in mid-April (2015), and the first two chapters are now in the hands of one of my and my co-writer’s (Michael Silversher) trusted readers.

For those of you who aspire to be writers, I want to encourage you to keep your dreams alive by taking time each day to write-write-write, then re-write like crazy and edit-edit-edit until each word brings you a spark of joy. Be like a mother hen watching over her brood to make sure not one of her babies is weak or sick.

In a way, words are like babies

They need a great deal of love and caring concern for their well-being in order to survive the test of time. They also provide a great deal of delight when you make the effort to find exactly what is needed for each word to perfectly shine in its particular place and purpose.

Michael and I had to persevere through very trying circumstances to make the words shine in Book Two of the Judah and Tamar Trilogy. And we will continue to tweak any word that doesn’t do what we need it to do to tell this powerful story of historical fiction based on Genesis 38.

More good news!

Talented artist, Rona Liu, is graciously working on the cover art for Book Two of the Judah and Tamar Trilogy. For those of you who loved the cover on Tamar of the Terebinths, I can assure you that you Book Two will explore a similar artistic approach that flies beyond the status quo covers for the genre.
